Hybrid events for
global participation

Since 2015, I’ve been at the heart of delivering IIED’s flagship annual event. Each year, CBA creates a collaborative space where frontline practitioners, local communities, and global decision-makers come together to tackle the challenges of climate adaptation.

Key Features:

  • 3 hybrid events within one week.

  • Over 80 in-person participants and 200 online.

  • Launch of the Hidden Handbrakes Platform introducing a ground-breaking web-based platform designed to expose and tackle invisible obstacles impeding climate progress.

  • Panel discussions featuring a line-up of esteemed speakers, policymakers, corporate leaders, and climate advocates.

  • Global audience engaged through virtual participation.

My work:

🏠

→ Secured, and managed three venues for three separate events within a packed Climate Week schedule

📣

→ Coordinated logistics for speakers, panellists, and online moderators, ensuring clear communication and smooth transitions

→ Identified and partnered with hybrid event technology providers in New York to deliver top-tier technical solutions

🔥

→ Developed and executed detailed technical run-of-shows tailored to each event’s requirements

💻

→ Programming to ensure seamless interaction between in-person and online participants

💡

→ Managed technical & real-time problem-solving to keep the events running smoothly

Impact:

Bringing together policymakers, corporate leaders, and climate advocates in both physical and virtual spaces, these hybrid events provided a crucial platform for discussion and action. The Hidden Handbrakes launch event highlighted unseen barriers to climate progress and sparked meaningful dialogue on how to overcome them. By bridging online and in-person participation, we expanded the reach of these critical conversations beyond New York Climate Week, engaging a global audience in the fight for climate action.

  • "Amy is a superb event manager whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with during the production and delivery of several international IIED events overseas. Her professionalism and leadership during these events is fundamental to their success. Juggling suppliers, schedules, partner organisations, participants and never phased by unexpected challenges that are thrown into the mix! She is particularly adept at understand technical requirements - our most recent event included hundreds of participants, a film crew, live streaming, and remote live interpretation. She worked tirelessly to ensure the tech company delivered. She is brilliant at managing relationships, working collaboratively and really ‘getting’ what her client wants. On top of this, she’s approachable, proactive and generally good fun to work with. Highly recommended!"
